Artwork

My First Love is Art.  I am a painter, a sculptor, a woodworker, a creator within many mediums.  As a designer, I have also had to paint many a vent return, Range Hood, nook to match wallpaper, or paint lampshades, or ceiling medallions, or light fixtures, etc. because the situation called for it.  I also Love Creating Commissions for my Clients.   I love creating and Painting in this way.  here are a few of those examples I would like to share with you...

Faux Finishing

While In Design School, I became Fascinated with the Art oF Trompe L'oeil, which means in French "to fool the eye". I became proficient at it and fell in love with all things related to faux finishing, creating textures, and muraling.  top left photo is wood painted to look like copper, the map triptych was a painting on canvas but has relief and texture. The Range Hood is wood to look like metal.  The bottom photo is wallpaper at the bottom, but painted extensions of the wallpaper onto the ceiling.  These are just a few examples I have of this application of my artistry.

Fine Art

I define my style of FINE Art somewhere between a dreamy Illustration and a study in texture and Light.  I like to play with the backgrounds by using texture and metallics and sometimes i incorporate fabrics or stain or wood panels as a background instead of canvas.  I like for it to look like art, not a photograph, I like to see the paint, and some of the strokes, but then some of it I sand out super smooth.  I love painting architecture, landscapes, and people, insects and animals.  Not all in that order, and rarely ever alone.  In every architectural scene there is some sign of life, and in every portrait, there is evidence of structure.  There are no absolutes.
